International News: Famous Hollywood actress and two-time Oscar winner Emma Thompson has revealed an unexpected story from her past involving US President Donald Trump. Speaking at a recent film festival, she shared how Trump once called her directly and invited her to spend a day together—an invitation she politely declined.
Thompson explained that the call came on the very day her divorce from actor Kenneth Branagh was finalized. She was on a film set at the time, busy shooting, when her phone rang.
When she answered, the caller introduced himself by saying, “Hello, this is Donald Trump.” Initially, Thompson thought it was a prank. She asked how she could help, and Trump reportedly suggested she visit one of his “beautiful places” and have dinner with him.
Thompson, caught off guard, thanked him for the offer but said she would speak to him later. She never followed up.
The actress made this disclosure on August 8 during the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. She was there to receive the prestigious Leopard Award for her lifetime achievements in cinema. While accepting the honor, she lightheartedly shared the story, joking that if she had accepted Trump’s invitation, “American history might have taken a different turn.”
This revelation adds to the long list of public stories linking Donald Trump to high-profile women. Over the years, Trump has been involved in several scandals concerning his personal life.
